Georgia runs its own Marketplace called Georgia Access. More than 1.3 million Georgians signed up for a 2026 plan (Atlanta Journal-Constitution), and about 900,000 were still enrolled in September 2026 (Georgia Access). For 2027, many of them will need to make a change.
Who is leaving, who is new
- UnitedHealthcare and Cigna are leaving Georgia Access at the end of 2026. Their members need to pick a new insurer (Here Atlanta; KFF).
- Antidote Health Plan of Georgia is new for 2027 (Here Atlanta).
- Eight insurers will offer plans in 2027, and the weighted average increase is about 20.7% before subsidies (Atlanta Journal-Constitution; Here Atlanta).
- Ambetter offers Enhanced Asthma and COPD Care plans in Georgia, with $0 preferred inhalers and $0 pulmonologist visits for eligible members (Ambetter Health).

Automatic re-enrollment has a catch
Georgia Access will automatically re-enroll you into your current plan and send you a notice. But if your 2026 insurer isn’t offering plans in your area for 2027, you need to choose a new plan yourself (Georgia Access).
Georgia Access 2027 dates
- November 1, 2026: Open Enrollment begins
- December 15, 2026: last day for coverage starting January 1, 2027
- January 15, 2027: Open Enrollment ends
Dates are from Georgia Access.
You can enroll with a broker
Georgia is unusual among state-run Marketplaces because it lets you enroll through approved private websites and brokers (Georgia Access). That means a licensed broker can compare plans from several insurers with you in one sitting.
Georgia checklist
- Read your renewal notice. Is your insurer leaving?
- Check that your doctors are in the new plan’s network.
- Update your 2027 income. With prices up about 20%, your subsidy matters more than ever.
